Discover StarCity's Co-Occurring Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SA IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (SA PHP)
In response to the increasing prevalence of patients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders that continue to flood hospitals and residential treatment facilities, StarCity Behavioral Health, LLC (StarCity) desires to strengthen Virginia's community-based systems of care. The main focus of StarCity's Co-Occurring Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SA IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (SA PHP) is to provide integrative and holistic clinical treatment to adult patients diagnosed with primary substance use disorders (SUD's) and co-existing mental health (MH) diagnoses. StarCity's program encompasses two distinct but interactive DBHDS licensed service areas including: Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Service (SA IOP/OP) and Substance Abuse Partial Hospitalization Program (SA PHP).
Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Service
Service Specific Objectives:
- Increased personal insight to co-occurring symptoms, addictive thought and behavioral patterns
- Increased knowledge of the bio-psycho-social-spiritual addiction disease model
- Self-awareness to patterns of emotional, mental, physical signs and stages of the relapse process
- Enhanced motivation and commitment to pursuit of life-long recovery
- Ability to maintain extended periods of abstinence
- Improved co-occurring coping and relapse prevention skills to include a written relapse plan
- Improved interpersonal relationships through positive and assertive communication skills
- Development of a community support system conducive to long-term recovery
- Strong community re-integration plan with stable employment, and/or vocational rehabilitation supports
Substance Abuse Partial Hospitalization Services
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) serves as a vital link between residential treatment and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP). This structured outpatient program is ideal for individuals transitioning from a residential facility or those who may struggle to maintain sobriety in IOP but require a higher level of support on their recovery journey.
PHP is particularly suitable for individuals who:
- Need substantial care while remaining sober outside of a rehab setting.
- Have completed a hospital or residential treatment program but are at high risk of relapse.
- Struggle with self-motivation to continue their recovery efforts.
- Experience co-occurring disorders, such as anxiety or depression alongside substance use issues.
- Live in environments that pose a risk for substance use and lack adequate support.
- Are not achieving optimal progress in an IOP setting.
